Fauna and Faunus

Fauna (on the left) is the roman goddess of fertility, woodland and flocks. She also has prophetic powers and her name can be translated as ‘She Who Has Your Back’.

Faunus is a roman God and the counterpart of Fauna, considered an oracle and thought to have the powers of prophecy. Anyone who sleeps in his woods under the trees could receive a prophetic dream. He is known as ‘The Voice of the Woods’.
