Thetis

Thetis is a goddess of the sea and she possesses the gift of prophesy and power to change her shape at will.

For me this last part is the most poignant; as women we are constant shape-shifters.

Sometimes in an attempt to people-please, we shrink ourselves down, quieter.

Sometimes in our fluidity as we shift from mother to book-reader to artist to teacher to dancer to crone.

And as we explore and drop the shadows in our hearts, the shape of her cannot help but shift.

There’s a wildness and power to the woman who shape-shifts.
